A: Accelerate Students and all the resources/materials will be provided by Manna Church.
Q: What if my family is going on vacation?
A: You will be able to keep up with most everything even while traveling, and there is flexibility built in to miss a few of the meetings. Let us know your vacation plans on the application and we will discuss during the brief interview.
Q: Do we meet virtually or in person?
A: YES! Most of our time will be spent together in person, but there will also be a virtual option should anyone be sick or unable to attend in person. Locations of meetings and outreaches will vary but will mostly all be in the Kapolei area.
Q: Is Accelerate Students open to students who do not attend Manna Church?
A: Accelerate Students is only open to students who attend Manna Church and are serious about growing in their Faith, Character, and Leadership. Being on a Manna Church Serve Team will a big part of the leadership growth experience.
Q: What are the expectations of a student in Accelerate?
A: If a student consistently misses meetings or fails to keep up with assignments and expectations, they will be asked to exit the internship and encouraged to apply again next summer. Students will be broken up into cohorts and will need to depend on one another for team assignments.
Q: What ages are eligible?
A: Incoming 7th graders through incoming 12th graders. Students will be broken into cohorts with other students of a similar age/maturity level.
Q: What does each student need to provide?
A: Each student will need to provide a Bible and something to take notes with each meeting (by hand or laptop are both fine). Each student will also be responsible to coordinate transportation to each meeting and outreach event. If they cannot attend in person, they will need to be able to join virtually.
Q: What is the goal of Accelerate Students?
A: The ultimate goal is to help each student strengthen their spiritual foundations and be equipped to stand tall in the face of all the pressure to compromise they face on a daily basis. And not only that, but to also have the confidence and skills to influence their peers to stand tall as well.
